Service
Focused ABA
Fewer hours, targeted goals — for families addressing one or two specific concerns.
Who this is for
- Older children who are doing well overall but stuck on specific skills
- Children already receiving speech, OT, or school services who need a narrow addition
- Families addressing a single safety concern such as elopement or aggression
- Families who want support without a full-time therapy schedule
What it looks like
Focused programming usually means a handful of hours a week, scheduled around school and other therapies.
Sessions target the specific routine where the difficulty shows up — the bedtime hour, the drop-off, the trip to Kroger.
Because the scope is narrow, caregiver coaching carries more of the weight, and we plan for that from day one.
Progress reviews happen on the same monthly cadence as comprehensive programming.
Goals we commonly work on
- Elopement and safety
- Aggression and self-injury
- Transitions
- Requesting and communication
- Sleep and bedtime routines
- Toileting
- Following routines independently
- Tolerating waiting and denial
Your child's goals are written for your child. This list is what families in this service most often work on, not a menu we assign.
How we measure progress
- A functional behavior assessment when behavior is the concern, so we treat the cause and not the symptom.
- Frequency, duration, or intensity data on the specific target behaviors.
- Caregiver-reported routine data — did bedtime actually get easier on a Wednesday?
- Monthly review, with a plan to fade support when the goal is met.
